Operation Yuletide, spearheaded by dedicated members of the Greensboro Police Department (GPD), aims to infuse the holiday season with joy for individuals facing challenging circumstances.
Throughout the year, GPD personnel encounter individuals affected by serious crimes, accidents, or unforeseen hardships. These are individuals with whom GPD has interacted throughout the year, and their stories have resonated with the department. Additionally, the department selects a senior home to “adopt,” delivering cheer and essential household and hygiene items. Operation Yuletide stands as a testament to the department’s commitment to showing these families and seniors that they are cared for.
While Operation Yuletide is a GPD-led initiative, it is a collaborative effort involving various City of Greensboro departments, businesses, and residents; and our facilities on Spring Garden St. (link) and West Gate Blvd. (link) wanted to donate to this amazing program. This program not only brings out the best in all participants but also serves as a poignant reminder of the strength of the Greensboro community.
