In Durham, North Carolina, over 78,000 individuals live in food-insecure households. Nearly one-third of those individuals are children, while another third are seniors that live at or below the poverty level. These individuals are especially hard hit this time of year when the rest of the world gathers to feed their loved ones. Our Durham team at 3447 North Roxboro Street believes everyone should have a Thanksgiving meal. We volunteered at the Durham branch of the Foodbank of Central and Eastern North Carolina (CENC). This branch serves six counties in the Durham area and distributes over 17 million pounds of food to those in need. There are plenty of ways to impact families in need of their services.
