Our Durham, North Carolina team at 3447 N. Roxboro Street is proud to support the Miracle League of the Triangle. The Miracle League is a national organization dedicated to providing special needs children with the opportunity to play baseball. In 2004, local businessmen Robin Rose and Tony Withers were inspired to start this chapter after watching a televised national league game. They aimed for 40 children and 100 volunteers on their Opening Day. On September 16, 2006, more than 100 players and 200 volunteers came to support their efforts. Two fields have opened in less than eight years, and nearly 500 players compete among 30 teams. With enthusiasm from the community, they have started an adult league and even a competitive camp.
This league is a great opportunity for those with special needs to enjoy America’s favorite pastime. If you would like to support, consider donating to their cause or even volunteering at one of their games. More information here!
